  • [Hip-Hop] Wiz Khalifa – Still Got It (ft. Project Pat)

    Updated: 2012-07-31 04:17:00
Taylor Gang producer, Sledgren, took to his twitter a few minutes ago to release this new Wiz Khalifa track featuring Juicy J’s older brother and veteran rapper, Project Pat. Sledgren deserves the most credit for the knocking beat and Wiz does a good job on the chorus, while spitting decent on his verse. Project Pat attempts to use a flow that I remember from the remix of Three 6 Mafia’s Poppin’ My Collar, but just can’t make it sound as good as it … →

  • [Chill] The xx – Angels (The Confect Remix)

    Updated: 2012-07-31 03:22:35
The London-based production collective, The Confect, recently released this incredible rework of The xx‘s already beautiful “Angels”. This remix maintains the original’s ethereal feel, while infusing some hip-hop percussion and deep underlying bass. The result invokes profound thought and shows us the breadth of emotion that music can capture. The xx’s second album, Coexist, is set to drop September 11th and The Confect is most definitely a crew worth following. • [Dubstep] Pendulum – Tarantula (Tom Budin Remix)

    Updated: 2012-07-30 22:57:51
Tom Budin, a sixteen-year-old EDM producer from Sydney Australia, dropped this remix of Pendulum’s “Tarantula” on his Soundcloud just the other day. The remix maintains much of the original song, but adds some snarling bass and fierce wobbles making it a true dubstep banger. This track definitely demonstrates that Tom Budin has a massive amount of potential. Listen and make sure to check out the rest of his Soundcloud page for more remixes and original productions.

  • [Trap] Yung Joc – Goin Down (Milo & Otis Unoriginal Mix)

    Updated: 2012-07-30 21:18:05
The replay value of this snap anthem “Goin Down” from Yung Joc is almost infinite. Now Milo & Otis works wonders and turns it into an insane trapped out anthem. Talk about a dance floor killer, this track has got me giggin’ so hard and I’m just sitting on my bed. High-pitch lasers have never felt so good on my ears, backed up with the funky beat from the original — this one is sure to make people get crunk. … →

  • [Drum and Bass] Krewella – Killin’ It (Dirtyphonics Remix)

    Updated: 2012-07-30 20:43:08
Two days ago I saw Dirtyphonics open for Kaskade at the Freaks Of Nature tour at Bill Grahm Civic in San Francisco. This track was amongst a list of all out bangers that had everyone raging face. It starts off a little darker then the original with a unique intro, then building into the tweaked sexy vocals that Krewella is known so well for. The first drop takes you on a Drumstep infused thrill ride with squealing wobbles mixed with … →

  • [Indie Electronica] Mausi – Sol.

    Updated: 2012-07-30 20:40:57
Meet happiness. Meet absolute joy. Meet Mausi. Comprised of siblings Daisy and Thomas Finetto from Newcastle, this duo’s song ought to put a gigantic smile on your tanned faces. “Sol” is like a really delicious ice cream sundae: it starts off with a serious contagious beat, is drizzled with a little bit of electronic goodness, and is topped with Daisy’s vocals that will drive you crazy. The good kind of crazy. Though they have only released a few tracks so … →

  • [Synth-Pop] Heavenly Beat – Hurting

    Updated: 2012-07-30 17:35:34
John Pena (formerly of reverb-drenched outfit Beach Fossils) is back with his new project, Heavenly Beat. ‘Hurting’, taken from his debut effort ‘Talent’ shows that Pena’s influences now lie with soft electronic acts such as the Pet Shop Boys and the new wave of Scandinavian synth-pop. The track itself is a smooth and flawlessly-produced slice of ethereal pop, showcasing Pena’s fragile half-whispered vocals to perfection. Definitely one to look out for in the near future, ‘Talent’ is out now.

  • [Electronica] Bombay Bicycle Club – How Can You Swallow So Much Sleep (Voyeur Remix)

    Updated: 2012-07-30 16:55:39
Leeds-based producer Voyeur did this cracking reworking of Bombay Bicycle Club’s ‘How Can You Swallow So Much Sleep’ a little while back, but it’s so smooth and sensual we thought we’d share it. Glacial synths and slow rhythms are what this remix is all about, and they allow Jack Steadman’s tender vocals to become a more haunting and powerful part of the song. The original of ‘How Can You Swallow So Much Sleep’ is on the Bombay Bicycle Club record … →

  • NICOLAS JAAR – BBC RADIO 1 ESSENTIAL MIX

    Updated: 2012-07-29 16:00:42
We’ve come pretty late to this one but it has to be one of the best current mixes I’ve heard in such a long time, especially coming from a 22 year old. It demonstrates phenomenal maturity and a real understanding and love for music. A lot of my “obscure” faves on this, “Shigeru Umebayashi – [...]

  • Sensitive Shit by Coco Bryce

    Updated: 2012-07-27 08:00:20
That guy COCO BRYCE is such a wanker. One moment he’s all straight up gangsta, the next he’s doing love songs for girls. He flips around more than Vanilla Ice. Problem is… He’s really nice. And another problem are his really excellent productions. Balancing between SKWEEE (where are you at SKWEEE HEADS!!!!!!!) and instrumental hiphop, [...]
